Terms of Reference

Mission Statement

To enhance the quality of life and increase the opportunities of current and future older people within the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

Objective

To act as a forum for highlighting and responding effectively to the key issues arising from the ageing population of the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

Aims

1. Influencing public policy-makers, private and independent organisations on ageing issues and the resource of older people.

2. Improving communication with older people representatives and other stakeholders on ageing issues.

3. Promoting the awareness of Age Discrimination issues and perspectives.

Activities

In delivering the above objectives the forum will:

1. Work with interested groups reflective of the diversity of the regions population.

2. Share information and resources.

3. Encourage the development of multi-sector approaches.

4. Support initiatives and developments relevant to the region's ageing population and undertake specific work.

5. Collate and sharing of information and initiatives, developments, problems and responses.

6. Communicate between a range of agencies and stakeholders.
